Residents of Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 142 (FBCMUD 142) have likely seen the signs in the neighborhood outlining voluntary water conservation conditions.
Due to ongoing drought conditions, The North Fort Bend County Regional Authority (NFBWA) initiated Stage 1 water conservation measures. Because FBCMUD 142 is located within the boundaries of the NFBWA, it was recommended that FBCMUD 142 initiate Stage 1 voluntary utility water conservation measures. The NFBWA and FBCMUD 142 may require mandatory water use restrictions if conditions worsen.
Effective immediately, the following voluntary water use restrictions are in place:
- Retail Water Customers, and those responsible for watering common areas such as esplanades and sports fields, are requested to voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaped and other areas to Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and to irrigate said areas only between the hours of 8:00 p.m. on the designated watering day(s) and 6 a.m. on the following day(s).
- Water customers are requested to practice water conservation and to minimize or discontinue non-essential water use.
The FBCMUD 142 Board of Directors appreciates your cooperation and perseverance during this Conservation Condition. Once the Conservation Condition ends, we will notify you, and you may then return to normal usage. If conditions should worsen, it may be necessary to proceed to Stage 2, at which time you will be notified of the more stringent restrictions to ensure the availability of water in your community.
